The notion of “healing within a natural environment” drove the design of this project from the original site layout to the design of the interior. More than a healing garden, this vision connects the building’s users to a vibrant, ecologically restored landscape, reflecting the view of cancer treatment and recovery as a holistic process. In addition to conventional infusion zones and linear accelerators, the 88,000 SF facility features a retail pharmacy, palliative and nutritional programs, image recovery program, massage and Lymphedema programs, a public educational program with classrooms and a resource center, geriatric oncology counseling, general counseling, a healthy eating café, and a winter garden.

Treatment functions are centralized in an efficient configuration, enabling the staff to provide the finest cancer care and allowing patients to heal in a supportive and comforting environment. Designing the facility with appropriate staff support and meeting zones brings the medical team together to support patients concurrently and collaboratively.
