What used to be an aging Sports Authority on North Clark St. in Chicago, has now become a beacon of health for the north side community. Advocate Outpatient Center – Lakeview is the latest in a series of more than 50 new Advocate clinics in the Chicagoland area to be delivered over a many-year planning horizon. A highly-collaborative, ongoing partnership with an integrated lean project delivery (ILPD) team, working alongside Advocate stakeholders, developed a standardized “Core Module” and architectural language adaptable to each community’s healthcare needs and local context to bring to life Advocate’s vision to greatly impact the health of the communities they serve.

The ILPD team has successfully executed 15 ambulatory clinics so far and will continue to work together throughout the delivery of all outpatient projects. Guiding principles were developed to ensure the vision is manifested in a way that is intelligent, flexible and forward-looking:

  • Cultivate lifelong relationships through small, frequent interactions
  • Multiples points, one system
  • Right care, right place, right time, always
  • Collaborate across boundaries
  • Constant focus on respect for people
  • Design for change
