In August 2018, Seattle Children’s relocated into a larger North Clinic space on the northeast corner of Providence Everett Regional Medical Center’s existing Colby campus. Designed by ZGF, the campus master plan was developed to allow for allied medical uses. The new North Clinic space takes advantage of this master plan, enabling Seattle Children’s to provide a broader range of outpatient medical services than what was previously available. In turn, the North Clinic alleviates demand on Providence’s emergency department by offering urgent care services seven days a week. The Seattle Children’s North Clinic follows another ZGF-designed clinic located south of Seattle in Federal Way.

Today, the Seattle Children’s North clinic offers more than 18 pediatric subspecialties, including audiology, cardiology, orthopedics, sports medicine, and endocrinology.

The design team hosted workshops with stakeholders to develop a site plan and project design that would ensure the highest quality of care while complementing the existing Providence medical campus. The result is the one-story North Clinic, clad in textured brick to to integrate with the façades of the adjacent buildings. The Seattle Children’s brand colors are expressed through round windows of varying sizes placed across the building and inspired byrain drops prevalent in the Northwest.
